We had so much fun. We saw lots of animals on the farm and even spotted a crocodile in the river! We played in the indoor and outdoor play areas.

They are learning how to do forward rolls, backward rolls, pencil rolls. They are using the equipment to experiment with all kinds of movements including hanging off of and travelling across the monkey bars, climbing the climbing frame, balancing on the benches, jumping off of the box. We love gymnastics!

We decided to weed our flower bed and plant some wildflowers. We would like to attract butterflies and bees. We raked the soil, scattered the seeds and watered the soil. We hope we will have beautiful flowers soon!

We travelled on the bus. We listened as Joe the librarian read us a story. We had a picnic in the library and then we visited the playground. We had a wonderful adventure!

We are hoping to win our Global Citizenship Green Flag this year! We will be having lots of visitors during the week. On Monday we were visited by Tom Roche from "Just Forests" to speak to us about the importance of conserving our forests for future generations.
On Thursday Louise from Goal visited us to tell us about the children from Kolkota that spend their days working in brick kilns. She also spoke to us about the projects Goal sponsors in Africa.

The children were divided into teams with the Junior and Senior infants having a tournament between their own classes. Each day Leah and Sasha came in at lunch to play off the games and referee them. The children really enjoyed it. The winning team for the tournament was "Spain".

​School tour 2016

On Wednesday 8th Junior and Senior Infants along with Ms Maher, Ms Norris and Ms Teehan travelled to Ballaun, Co. Galway to Turoe Pet Farm. A fantastic day was had by all. Have a look at our pictures!!!!

​Sports Day 2015!

We were blessed with lovely, sunny weather for our sports day this year. Ms Howell and Ms Maher did a really good job of organising all our fun games! We had sprinting, chicken running, a sack race, the egg and spoon and an obstacle course. And that was just before break! After break we enjoyed lots of fun relay races, especially the sponge relay and the jigsaw relay. At lunch time we got lovely treats from some of the mammies! Next, we went to the basketball court and had lots of fun dancing with the older classes and even the teachers and parents! The day finished with the Slow Bike Race. Some of the class brought in their bicycles, which were beautifully decorated, and they raced them across the yard. We loved sports day!


]]><![CDATA[Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic!]]>Thu, 25 Jun 2015 14:47:09 GMThttp://www.snnaomheoin.ie/infants-class-blog/our-teddy-bears-picnicMs Lupton got a letter from her teddy’s mammy asking us to throw him a surprise party. We decided we would have a teddy bears’ picnic and got to work planning. We had to organise a shopping list, send our teddies invitations and figure out how much money the food would cost. On the day, all our teddies came, we had our picnic inside on blankets, we sang Happy Birthday to Charlie and we played lots of games!
