We celebrated Halloween in spook-tacular style today! Fifth and Sixth looked appropriately scary in their costumes with a number of home made and upcycled costumes on the day! Well done to everyone. We went to the hall before little break to have our customary Halloween show and each class performed some spooky, Halloween themed poems and songs. Our class recited the poem "Oiche Shamhna" and sang the song "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. M.J and Noah acoompanied this with some excellent moon-walking!
After break we played some traditional Halloween games such as Bobbing for apples and cutting the flour. We then watched "Hocus Pocus" and had treats and sweets. It was a fun-filled day to mark the end of our first term and the beginning of Halloween mid-term break. Enjoy the break and the trick-or treating everyone! Our incredible team of girls from 4th, 5th and 6th won the Cumann na mBunscoil county final against a strong Cloghan team on Wednesday 23rd October in St. Brendan's Park, Birr. It was a fantastic match with our girls displaying amazing teamwork, skill and determination. Their focus, stamina and "never-give-up" attitude ensured a historic win for the school with a final scoreline of Cloghan 3points, Scoil Naomh Eoin 3 goals and 6 points. Comhgairdeachas mor to our marvellous team of girls and their mentors Ms. Howell and Ms. Maher.
