WATER Exhibition by Eoghan 5th class
Today I learned about H2O, which is water. It can be liquid, solid or gas form. Plants give us 10% of our water vapour in the atmosphere .There is a water treatment plant in Clara. The Gageborough River is its source. Blessington River is the largest water treatment plant in Ireland. Birr water supply comes from the Cam core River and the Kinnitty river. A borehole is another name for a well.

Water Exhibition by Sasha
Today, 5th and 6th class students went to Tullamore to a water exhibition. When we first arrived we met a lady called Catriona. She showed us a few things then handed us over to a man called John he showed us the rest .John showed us the water cycle when we finished at that station we moved on to see a few pictures of Clara's water treatment centre .John told us that surface water, that comes from rivers and lakes etc has to be filtered but ground water, which comes from wells or boreholes doesn't have to be filtered. He also told us that The Offaly County Council adds aluminum sulphite which makes all the dirt and silt stick together and makes it go to the bottom.
John showed us the special uniforms caretakers must wear for safety. Fluoride is also added to the water for your teeth.
