Fifth Green Flag for Biodiversity
Our school received its fifth green flag at a special Awards Ceremony in Athlone . An Taisce presented the flag to four members of the Green School's Committee.

Then we had our own school ceremony on the 11th June. We started the day with a special music celebration for our parents and guests. Ms. Kelly conducted the whole school choir.
Fr Moorhead celebrated a special thanksgiving ceremony & blessed our flag and the school environment.
The Green School's Committee invited Mrs. McEvoy Donnelly to raise the new flag. We were very excited when she raised the flag and spoke to us about taking time to appreciate our beautiful world around us.
We had a special treat afterwards........ a visit from the ice-cream van.... Yummy
Oonagh & Ger  entertained us with their beautiful dogs.  We had lots of fun watching them perform.

On 15th June  Ann noticed  a nest in an oak tree at the front of the school. A thrush had built her nest there.  There were five baby thrushes in the nest. Look at how they grew and developed . On June 24th they took flight....... Scroll over the photos  to see how quickly they grew.
