Fond Farewell to Our Principal Mrs. Maria Davis
Mrs. Davis retired on 23rd February 2022 after serving Rath N.S. for eighteen years as principal and having taught in the school for seven years previously. On her second last day all the pupils, teachers, staff & Fr. Moorhead assembled in the Parish Hall to acknowledge her work and dedication to our school. We were all sad to mark this occasion but we knew that this was a very special moment too. After all the care, time, work and sincere dedication that Mrs. Davis gave to Scoil Naomh Eoin we knew that the time had arrived for her to pause for a while, reflect and then continue with her plans & wishes in her own life.
The children in Rath N.S. presented a wonderful assembly in honour of their principal. They sang specially chosen songs in recognition of Mrs. Davis' great love of music and songsinging. Careful consideration was given to the "Sweet Kerry Song" as we all knew how proud she was of her roots in the Kingdom !! Pupils presented her with their beautiful art work, poems, reflections and other creations. A special "Retirement Poem" was recited by young and old. The last verse extolled the collective thoughts & sentiments echoed by all present.
We wish you days of happiness.
Not filled with any strife.
We hope that your retirement years
are the best days of your life.
Míle Buíochas a Bhean Uí Dháibhís
