Christmas Music

" The Peace Child"

Congratulations to all on a job well done!

Our school has been involved with the Music Generation Programme for the last three years.

Miss Ailbhe Kelly our Music generation tutor worked closely with all teachers and pupils since early January preparing for the school show "The Peace Child" which is a story set in a mystical land of Mambeeka where two very different tribes exist.

The audience enjoyed a variety of musical styles from jazz-rock to rap and hip-hop, two part rounds and three parts harmonies.

Well done to the pupils of 3rd,4th,5th & 6th who had lots of lines to learn and performed very well on the day.

Have a look at our slide show.

Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath

We have been taking part in the Music Generation Programme for the past three years. Ms Ailbhe Kelly, music tutor, visits our school twice a week and works with the pupils in all classes. All the children in the school get an opportunity to perform and enjoy music .

Singfest

On Friday June 10th our pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th class had the opportunity to participate in one of the "Big Sing Days", part of the Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath Association of Irish Choirs "Singfest".
The pupils were engaged in an exciting programme of workshops culminating in a massed choir performance in Athlone Institute of Technology. The Music Generation team including Ms Ailbhe Kelly were joined by vocal coaches from the Irish Youth Choir and conductor Greg Beardsell.
It was an exciting day!
