We have oak trees outside our classroom.
Trees are very important. They give us oxygen. They provide shelter and homes for lots of creatures. We discovered that many creatures live in our oak trees. Beetles, birds, spiders and insects make their homes in these trees. Squirrels eat the acorns. We did bark rubbings and felt the rough, hard and bumpy texture of the trunk while the leaf rubbings were smooth and soft.
Jersey Day
The junior infants learned about the wonderful work that GOAL does in poorer parts of our world.

Our Food Project
Food gives us energy. Food keeps us healthy. Food helps us to grow. We learned about how important it is to eat healthy food. We learned that there are different groups of food for example, the dairy group. the cereal group, the fruit and vegetable group and the meat and fish group.
We know that farmers give us food. Food comes from plants and animals.
We learned how to make a fruit salad. We went to Oonagh's shop to buy ice cream to have with our fruit salad.
Then we had a picnic.....
